7 Days 7 Words Challenge!

Who doesn’t love a challenge? I love a challenge. Life is not meant to be mundane, boring, completely routine and certainly I’ve learned that it is not all meant to be planned out by ME!

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have made absolutely fabulous plans that the Lord has rescued me from. Yes, I said it. My plans sometimes suck, and God knows it. And He trashes them.

So this week, I am challenging you to start a new challenge, take seven days to memorize these seven words: “For I know the plans I have for you…”

These seven life-changing words are pulled straight out of Jeremiah 29:11 which says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Bible verse memorization can be extremely intimidating. I mean, come on. There are over 23,000 verses in the Old Testament alone!  No pressure, right? But here you go, you have this week to take this challenge and memorize those seven simple words! We can do seven words, right? Of course we can! So how will you do it? Here’s what I do when I want to memorize something:

  1. I write it down.
  2. I type it.
  3. I read it out loud.
  4. I write it down on multiple note cards and stick them to the most frequently visited areas, where I KNOW I will not be able to avoid seeing it. My bedroom doorway, my bathroom mirror, my kitchen cabinet. All great hot spots.

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

This verse brings peace and comfort to me. I want to constantly remind myself that my plans are not my own and I can let go of fear, discomfort, worry and stress. And I want to invite you to do the same!

Who will join me? Comment and let me know how your challenge is beginning this week! Mine is starting off with a bang. Just kidding, I’m finishing my cereal.

  2. Love it. Great tips for learning anything, especially bible verses. I personally did this with Spanish. I would write it down, say them out loud all the time, and then left sticky notes all over the house, especially in the areas where I hung out the most, like around the fridge, or my bathroom mirror.
This is great to memorize something that motivates you to live a good life.
