Step by Step ~Kid Friendly~ Gingerbread Men

Who doesn’t love a classic take on these total cuties?!

Sugar? Ding! Molasses? Ding! Tasty little edible buttons that haven’t recently been sucked up by my vacuum in the craft room? Ding!

Here is a simple step by step, totally kid friendly recipe for gingerbread! So grab the kiddos, scroll down a bit and have them help you get these sweeties going!

First, gather your ingredients! You’ll need…

~ 5 Tb. brown sugar

~ 3 Tb. dark molasses

~ 1/2 tsp. vanilla

~ 1 small egg white

~ 1 cup all purpose flour

~ 1/4 tsp. salt

~ 4 tsp. ginger

~ 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

~ 1/8 tsp. baking soda

Next, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

  1. Do you have a Tupperware Power Chef yet? (If not, take out your mixing bowl and be in touch with me to find out more about how you can save time and money with your very own!) In the base of the Power Chef  System fitted with paddle attachment, combine butter, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla and egg white. Cover and pull cord until well blended and set aside! No need to lug out your giant mixer, or to use electricity! Let the kids help with the pull cord, they love it!
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon and baking soda. Stir in butter mixture until a well-combined dough forms. (I like to use my smallest bowl in the Classic Impressions Bowl set.)
  3. Lightly flour work surface and roll out dough to ¼”/.6 cm thick rectangle. Press gingerbread cookie cutter into dough. This is my kids’ favorite part! Transfer gingerbread man shapes to Silicone Wonder® Mat-lined sheet pan, ½” apart. No need to use cooking spray. Girl, that saves you money.
  4. Bake 7 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove pan from oven, let cool completely before decorating or enjoy plain. Of course, we all know those kiddos want to decorate, so GO FOR IT!
